MG MGA - Epic Flooding...

Hey Guys,
The area around Binghamton NY, where I live, has suffered flooding of epic proportions. I'm lucky, as I live up high, but several of my friends have lost everything, homes included. We had 9 inches of rain in just one day and it rained for several days. I've lived here most of my life and never seen anything like this. Almost didn't get home Wednesday night as many roads were closed and had to forge flooded areas on three occassions. The building where I work is under water and we'll not be able to return to work for at least a week, then they plan to set up trailers to work out of. The town of Owego is still closed off and major highways are just reopening. Many areas have been without power or water for several days. Just awful...

I'm sorry to hear that, Gerry, and glad that you've stayed high and relatively dry. We were relatively unscathed by flooding in Norwich, VT, having received the same one-two punch from Irene and Lee. It's been quite as devastating to VT as western NY. We never imagined the storm would track up the St Lawrence Valley.

My MGA wasn't home, but in a restoration body shop in Mt Holly, near Ludlow, VT. They were initially cut off from the rest of the state, until roads and culverts were hastily repaired. I was extremely glad to get the call to the owners from the shop that our cars were all spared in the deluge.

Hey Gerry, glad to hear you're "high and dry". I did think of you when I saw the news reports about some river overflowing and flooding Binghamton and Owego. Working in a trailer isn't necessarily bad, I did it for almost 2 years before our building here was built.
So sorry for the neighbors, that's rough. Hope everything goes well now...

Gerry - great to see you Saturday night at the Seneca Lodge, and very happy that you were living on high ground (I was worried about your cars :)
