MG MGA - Early MGA Jack - LJ23 Colour

A couple of years ago Bob West supplied me a totally seized up LJ23 that he recovered from the bowels of a derelict MGA. It had been sitting part submerged in water for some considerable time. Finally, with the help of a 2ft monkey wrench I have freed it all up and am now renovating it.

Despite its hard life, the main body is in excellent condition and shows absolutely no sign of ever having been painted; nor do any of the moving bits.

Can anyone tell me if their original equipment LJ23 (early 1500) is painted. I am not interested in restored equipment, they are usually tarted up in black, grey, red or green.
