MG MGA - door seal

I have fitted a new door seal, but there is a small gap in one area. It is because the trim pushes too far down on the flange. What can I use to pack the seal, to raise the height in this one area. I was thinking of using some silicone sealant.

It's somewhat difficult to visualize the problem you describe, Nigel. Perhaps a photo would be a help.

Nigel,

be cafeful with Silicone selants as some of them are corrosive.
John Bray

Hope this helps. The seal alongside the screwdriver does not meet tightly against the door when closed. If I raise the seal it does, but I can't fix it in position, hence the idea to put something on the seam of the sill to hold it up.Oops! I can't upload a picture, sorry, the file is to large!!

Nigel, you can download a free programm called VSO Image Re-sizer (or similar ones) which will modify the image to allow you to be able to upload it successfully.

I use it often as I always forget to change the picture quality size on my digital camera.

You can reduce it in steps until the picture is small enough to upload.
