MG MGA - Con rod P/No's

I have a con rod with the P/No 1H 702 cast in it. My Parts List and Barney's site gives 1H 701 (Rod 2 & 4) and 1H703 (Rod 1 & 3) as the P/No's for 1500 & 1600 (Before moving on to the 12H numbering). I am being told that Part No. 1H 701 should have the number 1H 702 cast in to the rod & Part No. 1H 703 should have the number 1H 704 cast in to the rod. This sounds odd to me and i have never heard of such before. Does anyone know what the 1H702 fits?

This has been discussed many times.
It was common BMC practice to have the fully machined part number one digit different from the casting number.
