MG MGA - Changing steering rack seals
I was getting the car ready for the MoT and noticed that the rubber accordain seals on the steering were beginning to crack up. I got some new seals and though that it would be a simple job to undo the track rods and change them over. Unfortunately in the 10 years since I last did this, they have siezed and I cant get them to unscrew. I left them with some penetrating fluid brushed on to ease the problem. Are there any other things that I could try?

Have you managed to unscrew the locknuts?

First, as suggested, undo the locknuts. If truly seized, heat the tie rod ends. They will unscrew. Be sure to count the number of turns to properly re-align. Those boot clamps are a real pain! GTF

Yup, it was the lock nuts. I remembered that there were locknuts when I started the job, but couldn't see them as they were burried under the crud. thanks
