MG MGA - Changing steering rack seals

I was getting the car ready for the MoT and noticed that the rubber accordain seals on the steering were beginning to crack up.

I got some new seals and though that it would be a simple job to undo the track rods and change them over.

Unfortunately in the 10 years since I last did this, they have siezed and I cant get them to unscrew.

I left them with some penetrating fluid brushed on to ease the problem.

Are there any other things that I could try?

Have you managed to unscrew the locknuts?
N McGurk

First, as suggested, undo the locknuts. If truly seized, heat the tie rod ends. They will unscrew. Be sure to count the number of turns to properly re-align. Those boot clamps are a real pain!

Yup, it was the lock nuts.

I remembered that there were locknuts when I started the job, but couldn't see them as they were burried under the crud.

thanks
