MG MGA - Carpets

Hi,
I am thinking of replacing my MGA carpets as the original ones are now pretty much past it. What's the best way to go ? (UK) Carpet set and fit it myself? - if so who supplies the best. Or get a carpet fitter to do the job - again anyone know of a carpet fitter in Sussex?

Many thanks

P- if your old carpets fit well I suggest you use them as templates and buy new carpet of your choice, cut them to size and then take them to an upholsterer for trimming. There's a little work involved but you end up with a good fit. You can buy the rubber mat that goes under the foot pedals.

Not sure if Bob West makes his own or uses a stock supplier. However, he does have a full time trimmer (Les) so may be worth a call to check out.

For my car I bought a relatively cheap set on ebay that turned out very nicely (at least much better than the ones I replaced

Must go and vacuum both cars for the weekend, it's going to be a scorcher

Scarborough Faire in Rhode Island sells a nice quality called "Woolon", available in different colours. This carpeting is made in the USA, and sells for about US$500 (about UK pounds 335) for the main set. Don't know if that is competitve with UK suppliers, and the freight costs to the UK might be unacceptable. It is nylon made to look like the original wool carpet.
It is trimmed on the edges that show, and includes the heel mat. Remember to tell them you want a set for a right hand drive car. You can install this yourself easily.
Peter.
P.S. I am not associated with SF, but I am a satisfied customer.
