MG MGA - Battery Cover Seal

How is the battery cover seal (moss 3470-880 on the floorboard page) attached? On the front side or the backside of the rear board. The front would seem the best for sealing to the battery cover, and glued, maybe a few staples or tacks? I hope to finally set the body back on the frame in the next week or two.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott - you are about the same place as many of us working on our restorations - pictures please!

Barney's site says to staple it to the top of the board, with the excess hanging over the front, IIRC.

I am using foam weatherstripping that is glued to the underside of the battery cover, instead, as I don't have the right piece of "correct" rubber for the application, but I think it will work OK.

Scott,

I got my seal from Todd Clarke which is what I think Moss supplies now. I glued it to the front of the rear board. It fits and seals very well and has not loosened in the last 4 years and 17K miles. I did not use any staples etc.

See here, Scott: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/restore/rt103.htm .

Barney Gaylord's site is the first place I check when I have such technical questions. The second place is the archives of this forum, and if none of my usual sources are productive I pose the question to the board members here. Cheers!
