MG MGA - Battery acid/corrosion
| I have corrosion building up on the battery shelves as a result of over filling the batteries a few months ago. I haven't driven the car since last service but I keep them on a "demand" type charger. BTW, this charger has performed extremely well for many years. It only charges when they require a charge. As it is very difficult for me now (physically) to extract the batteries from their mounting shelves to clean them properly, is there anything I can spray/pour over them in order to dissolve the corrosion? |

| You could douse with a solution of warm water and baking soda to neutralize the acid - but don't get any in the battery(ies)! Also, while this will take care of the acid, it won't do anything for the corrosion you noted. The proper solution is as you already know, take out the batteries and attend to the rust and paint. |
