MG MGA - A Bit of a Celebrity on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MG-MGA-MGA-1956-MGA-Early-Car-HDC43-10195-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf3d7cc6cQQitemZ330508520556QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks This is the NINETY-FIFTH MGA built! It has the early gauges, which I have only seen in MG magazines. He has no reserve on it; I hope he gets what he is looking for. FWIW.

Yes, it is an early car, but I don't see that there's anything historically special about that particular car that would make it any more valuable than any other 1500. Am I missing something?

One of about 4000 first year cars with the early instruments, about 6% of all 1500 models. Not early enough to have the hand tooled panels, so not all that rare. If you think early has some value (chuckle), then statistically it is one of the first 100 cars out of 100,000 built, so that makes it one out of a thousand, or twice as rare as a Twin Cam. Personally I think early only means it still has the teething problem bugs and none of the later improvements. (Enter implied smiley here)
