MG MGA - 12H1326 18GB Head Available
| Greetings from Japan! A couple of years ago I decided to add a supercharger to my A, while I was at it I decided to add an 12H1326 head from a 65-67 MGB. I looked for several months before I found not one but two for the right price at the same time on ebay. I bid and won both. While back home on business, I took both heads to my favorite shop and told them to use the best one and do a rebuild. Both heads were rebuildable, but one had had I think two seats replaced in the past (not sure which ones), the other, poorly casted one was in great internal shape so we went with that one. My machinist said he could probably rebuild either head just fine, but felt more comfortable with the one that had not had any previous machining so I took his advice. I placed the extra head in my father's dry basement where it currently resides. He tells me it time for it to go and I don't want to ship it to Japan. Heck, it's been two years and the other head we rebuilt is working just fine, even after a good deal of abuse. Since I will be back in the states in late May, I have decided to try and find a new home for it. I was hoping one of the members here would be interested. It is as I bought it, bare with no hardware but it has been steam cleaned. It may have some light surface rust by now however. Since we never got that far into it, I don't know if there are any serious problems with it so I can't offer any guarantee. I'll let it go for cheap plus shipping from Kentucky. If you are close, you can stop by and pick it up. Drop me a line if you are interested! Tom |
