MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZS Tyre wear
Advice please I have a zs180 which is nearly 3 years old . Over the last couple of months I have noticed the front tyres wearing on the insides on both wheels. I was thinking that I will have the tracking checked when I replace the tyres but someone said it could be a worn suspension component. If it is not the tracking would I be able to claim the reapir under warranty. Thanks in advance

Its fairly normal for the insides to wear first, just depends to what level your have worn as to whether ther is a problem. If its tracking I would say that is normal wear and tear, not warranty. How many sets of tyre have you used and at what mileages? Kelvin

whether it's tracking or worn bushes, it's all 'normal wear and tear' therefore not applicable to warranty. Yes, 3 years tells us very little, what's the mileage and your usage profile?

Suspension wear would not usually be even so this would be reflected in odd wear rates in the tyres. Even wear rates points clearly to either enjoyment of the handling capabilities, perhaps allied to a slight tracking issue that amplifies the inside wear. Rog

Weekly checks on the tyre tread depths & wear patterns are advisable....
