MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZR, ZS and ZT rust spots
I am writing a rust proofing article for MG Enthusiast magazine and would like to know whether the ZR, ZS and ZT are starting to rust and if so, where are the typical rot spots? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Daughters '02 ZR.Bought new.Kept in very clean pampered order but 1. small( 1" square or so)rust spots have erupted same place both lower front wing just above plastic bumper 2. much pitting around both front wheel arches 3.on bonnet, small 1" patch above and to left of bonnet-lock location. These are really only irritating blemishes but would cost quite a lot to remedy when re-varnishing is included. Rest of car, fine.Which is not bad considering it has spent all it's life outdoors.

We have a late Rover 200 (V reg) as a spare car. It is the same body as the ZR. It is starting to rust in the leading edge of the rear wheel arches, down the bottom by the sill. There is also some rust where the rear hatch hinges attach to the body shell. Otherwise as good as new. There is no rust on my ZT 160+ on a 54 plate and registered on 31 Jan 2005.
