MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZR160 hidden power?
| hi, i have recently changes from a 03 ZR 100 Diesel to a 54 reg 160 with 3500 miles. i make the following observations:- the idle seems quite uneven - light flywheel maybe? seems very easy to stall without 'blipping' the throttle no torque to speak of lack of power until well past 4000. i doubt if has 158 hp even at the redline and under 4000 it seems as flat as a witches T*T MPG 35 if i am good and keep it below 80 over 80 it is more like 30mpg is this normal as i find it hard to believe that MG would have made an engine like this. could the V V C be locked on ? thanks danncus |

| Does'nt sound right, the idle should be smooth and the torque below 5000 should feel like a normal 1.8 K series. Stalling should'nt be easy to do either, i would suggest getting it to a specialist with the correct diagnostic equipment to run checks. |
