MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZR wheelbase
| has anyone noticed that the wheelbase of the ZR105 & 120 models have differing wheelbases on either side. one side being ~10mm longer than the other. on consultation with my dealer they could not offer any other explanation than "well, thats what the others are like" 1 have also noticed that the car corners better to the left, and has less tyre wear on the O/S front tyres. & tends to understeer on right handers. has anyone got a better explanation than my dealers or is it another mystical design feature of MG-Rover? |

| ZR wheelbase is 2500mm and there is no allowance other than very minor error for any side to side difference. 10mm is in my view outside the acceptable tolerance level. However laser alignement will not only provide an accurate measurment but have the appropriate data which will show the allowable float. Rog |

| i got the garage to do a laser alaignment, but they said everything was on the max tolerence but within it therefore they wouldn't do it, thus they just keep changinging the wheelarch liners (cause they rub). i have noticed though that the suspension is different on the ZR160, and the wheelbase is the same either side. the battle continues....
