MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ZR gremlins

Have a 51 plate 02 model year ZR diesel which insists that one of the doors or either the boot or tailgate is open.

I have been round opened and shut them all to make sure but the car is convinced one is open and has it's irritating light on.

Any ideas where the sensors are so I can WD40 them or similar?

Also why would I lose power to radio and clock but not have a blown fuse?

They are physical switches, aren't they? So mounted somewhere in the opening (too cold for me to go and look at my ZS). If so I'd be surprised if it were a sticking switch, so possibly a trapped wire shorting to the body somewhere. Or maybe the plastic tip has broken off.

For the radio any disconnection will cause a circuit to fail, the fuse is just one possibility, the others are bad connections or disconnected wires. Can you get dampness in the fuseboxes and hence corrosion like on older cars?

Happened to be crawling around inside the boot of the ZS today sorting out the speakers. Whilst the doors have obvious physical switches fitted by the lock loops on the B and C posts I can't see one round the boot aperture (unlike the MGB) or by the hinges. I suspect that because the boot lock is electric (on my ZS at any rate) the switch is part of the latch and so covered by the plastic trim.

Yes, the boot switch is part of the locking mechanism. If you open the boot the load space light will come on. If you then trip the lock with the boot open (e.g. using a screwdriver) you should see the load space light go out.
