MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - What Dampers?

Can anybody please tell me what make / model / part number dampers my early 2004 ZT160 1.8 Turbo uses? The ride over rough surfaces is getting a bit jittery, and I suspect worn damper(s). The car has done 60,000km and is still under its dealer maintenance plan. I suspect the dealer may be reluctant to replace the dampers. Is there a reliable and objective way to test the dampers, i.e. to prove that they need replacing?
