MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Wet legs....
Mk1 MGZR.... It's raining and it's leaking through the sunroof into the headlining. Any ideas? I know my Land Rover Discovery has drain tubes which get blocked, has anyone else experienced similar with the ZR? Thanks in anticipation. Mark.

Not with an MG, but that was the cause on my Celica. A length of plastic-coated curtain wire fed down the hole from the top, followed by careful pouring of water into the channel sorted it out. Wish my ZS had a sunroof, got to be better than the climate control ...

It could be that the drain tubes are blocked. An alternative is that the seal is not sitting on the roof panel correctly due to corrosion of the panel. The seal is glued to the glass panel surround, so is not available separately.

Thanks Guys, I'll look at the drains and seal as soon as I can. In the mean time, any other clues would be helpful. Mark.

Hi Mark I had a leak on a Freelander sunroof, very common. As I see it if the water leeks between the moving parts and the seal, the water will drain away down the drain tubes. Mine appeared to be seeping between the glass and the seal that is fitted directly to it. I used some Comma seek and seal between these two parts and that seems to have fixed it. Good luck Carl
