MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Water in the Spare Wheel Well

After noticing a lot of condensation on the rear window of my ZR160, I've discovered the spare wheel well has half an inch of water in it. The water seems to be coming in via the nearside tail light, as this is full of condensation and has odd spots of water underneath it, leading down to the wheel well.

Anyone else had this problem?

Twisted gasket / foreign body on gasket / crack on lens? Rears of cars are very prone to this as the air vortexes around the rear of the car sucking the water vapour back onto the car as you drive forward.
