MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - tunung zs101 up to 115ps
| Can anyone advise me as to the possibility of raising the 101ps up to 115ps on my recently purchased 2003 ZS deisel hatch. I would like to sharpen the initial acceleration on this excellent motor. |

| Hi Mike The difference between the 2 power outputs on the standard cars is down to engine fuel mapping. Revised software could be 'blown' into the ECU to give more power. Wide-boys with stolen ECU mapping software will reprogram your ECU for a few hundred quid (how do they get away with it?) If acceleration is initially sluggish it could be due to a dodgy Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). My ZS TDI had gone sluggish below 2000 RPM and had an intermittent flat spot from 3000 - 3200. Changing the MAF fixed it. Another thing to try would be a clip-on gadget that kids the ECU into supplying additional fuel by altering the signal from the MAF. They are available from 'Rover Ron', whose website gives details of many different ways to tune up a diesel. Hope this helps! |
