MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Trip computer display

I have a friend with a ZT 190 who is having the following problems with his centre dash computer display:

The problem is a series of vertical lines on the trip computer/message centre display,
from top to bottom. The lines are not as bright as the nomal text, but
do corrupt the text. There are varying numbers of these lines, in
different positions, every time I use the car.

Anybody out there who has had similar problems - knows how to fix it - or where can you get sensibly priced replacements????

Try removing Fuse 29 firstfor short period this cleared my lockup problem last month when the display failed to come on.

Thanks Trevor - I had seen that earlier thread and passed it on to him but I haven't heard anything since! Let's hope it works. I have a 135CDTi with 42,000 miles and have had no display problems yet, I had a Saab 9-3 before and that display was prone to losing digits! Expensive to replace.
