MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - temp guage fluctuates between normal and high cool

temp guage fluctuates between normal and high cooling fan sticks on,car runs ok and engine doesnt seem too hot heater works fine.

Sorry, thought I was on another subject, but similar question - what model?

The schematics for my ZS180 show separate circuits and sensors for the electric temperature gauge and cooling fans, so it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that the coolant *is* hot. Mine always shows exactly the same temperature no matter how hot or cold the weather. Going up and down with the fans going off and on I could understand, and the radiator were partly blocked or something, but if the fans are on all the time the temperature gauge should either be stable of only moving slowly in one direction.

I have had the situation on a completely different car where steam pockets can develop in the cooling system which causes the temp gauge to fluctuate wildly. I take it your coolant level is good?
