MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Spring Ratios
| OK Guys here's a question for you. Does the Rover 75 have the same springs/dampers and suspension components as a MG ZT? Need to know!! |

| Neil Not that I am aware of. The 75 rolls a lot more in corners than the ZT which is actually very firm. This is down to having solid sub-frame mounts which transmit more road noise/shock than the 75's softer mounts. In addition, the front indicators on the 75 front bumper are at the lowest legal height, hence any sporty mods make it illegal in lowering terms. The latest facelift addresses this but starts to blur the ground between cosseting ride of the 75 and the exceptional handling of the ZT, as the 75 is meant to be the best ride quality in its class, whilst th eZT is meant to have the best handling in its class. The ZT runs 18" rims (except ZT120 on 17") whilst the 75 runs 15-17" rims. The ZT 190 also has larger diametre brake discs. All of this must affect the unsprung weight and therefore damper and spring settings are likely to be different.Martin |
