MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Spacesaver on MGZR
| looking to buy a 02 ZR But don't like idea of spacesaver, so if i get a spare 16in alloy/tyre will it fit in place (so i can throw the spacesaver o'er the wall -lol) cheers in advance |

| Not sure - we had a Rover 214 which is very similar, and had a full-sized spare in that. BUT a 214 uses rather narrower wheels than the ZR. I guess the problem here would be that ZR alloy would fit in the space, but the load floor would not fit down flat with the spare in there. I don't know - but if this were the case, and you were determined to keep a full sized spare, then I would look to modified the boot floor panel so the wheel fitted in. Wouldn't be beyond the efforts of a determined DIY'er... :o) |

| A 16" alloy fits just fine in the spare wheel well, and the floor fits over the top with little or no 'lump'. DC |
