MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Notice of NMGO Last run of 2002

Northern MG Owners last run of the year Oct 6th.

We’ve had a great season of runs through the summer; reports, photos and video at www.nmgo.info. The previous NMGO run #4 was 294 miles door – door and about 1mm off the tyres... we had a great day!

Hmm how can we top that... I know NMGO5! How do you get on with the hairpins? Get the right gear and momentum? Wheelspin or powerloss? Too fast or too slow?

Well, NMGO5 will give plenty of opportunity to perfect your technique especially as the hairpins are tighter and on 1 in 4's. And to add that little extra, sheer drops!

To do all the Cumbria passes in a day is a real challenge, providing plenty of drama and excitement!

The roads are mainly single track with passing places that are inevitably in the wrong place... Anyway you can't shuffle forward if the car is climbing at 45 degrees and the bonnet is obscuring the view and you can't reverse without taking valium.

There will be open road sections too with fantastic views from the high passes and through the valleys. Hopefully the tourists will be at home, the weather fine autumn sunshine and the colours turning. It'll be a day you won't forget.

Welcome to my playground! See ya there!

A bit more detail on timings: -

5th Oct arrive (tbd) check in etc for drive at 1800
Short drive 1800-2000 non-stop
2000 park up,
2030+ eve meal/pub

6th Oct 0800 Full English Breakfast for those who can face it!
Assemble (tbd) 0900 for 0930 sharp departure to make most of the available light and to enable stops as necs and still make Pub for Lunch (for those who can face it!).

If the above is not tempting enough check this out!

And we're doing one more pass and a longer route than they did! If we can't get a longer line of cars than that it'll be the last NMGO I'll be Routemaster for!

I counted 9 on the passes pictures, 12 in Ambleside picture and 14-15 lined up for a group photo. So to beat that for sure we need 15+! So far we have 10 cars - 4 ZR’s 1 ZS, 1 ZT, 3 F’s I TF.
