MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MG ZS Fuel Tank 55 Litres?
| I have always been dubious about the size of my MGZS120 Fuel Tank - 55 litres - I find this hard to believe! Whenever I am low on fuel I always seem to only have to put about 35-40 litres of fuel in! When I fill her up, I place the nozzle just inside the tank inlet so I can squeeze as much into the tank as possible. I only stop when the nozzle is just MM in, and the lever refuses to be operated, with the normal click, click... The other day I managed to my needle (no remarks please) so far in the red my family were panicking we were going to grind to a halt. So I went off to the garage and filled her up, I managed 45 litres before the pump lever started complaining. So, according to the ZS technical data I should have had another 10 litres of fuel in the tank!! As for stats: If I drive conservatively to and from work 18 mile round trip along the A10, averaging 50mph, I manage about 300 miles before I feel I should fill her up. If I razz her I should be considering topping her up after doing about 260-280 miles. As for the tootling along 100 miles up the A14 and M1 which I did saturday, keeping to the speed limit (I was not allowed to lose the in-laws) I have so far managed 270 miles, and according to the fuel gauge, I still have another 100 miles in the tank (gauge is on the last quarter)!!! I think that is pretty good going :o) I know pretty much how many miles I have in the tank, as I am sure all you ZS120 owners know, the fuel gauge works like this (well for me anyway): The first and last quarters of the gauge roughly estimate about 100 miles, (if you do not razz the mary out the car). The half way gauge is roughly 150 miles done, and 150 left. This is based on my 18 mile round trips (5 times a week) along the A10 - going against the traffic :o) PS. Off the top of my head I cannot think whether the ZS has a low fuel warning light - does it? So, my question is - does the ZS have a 55 litre tank or not??? Demon :o/ |

| The ZS does have a low fuel warning light and it does have a 55 litre tank. The last 5 litres take forever and a day to brim. |
