MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MG ZR Auto Gearbox

After a reconditioned gearbox fitted to our ZR it has started driving erratically. I can only explain it as being very similar to a slipping clutch in a manual car. eg driving at 30mph with manual change selected the engine revs were oscillating between 3500 and 4500RPM. Any similar experiences or ideas on a fix.
