MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - MG ZR 120+ Stepspeed - Electrics
Anyone able to help ? I'm thinking of purchasing a ZR, 04 plate, only 9,500 miles at a reasonable price. However, on starting the test drive the battery was flat and the salesman commented that the alarm drains the battery. Hmmmm. Also, although the car drove really well, after the test drive, parked the car and turned it off. Went to turn the key again to check windows etc were working Ok - and the battery was flat as a pancake again. Now, if they replace the battery it might solve the problem BUT before I buy, should I be wary of electrical faults ?

if you look at the top of the battery there is a round window if its black inside the battery is nfg if its green or has a hint of green to it battery is recoverable. i have not come across any obvious battery draining faults to mention. get the salesman to fit a new battery and you should be ok make sure you get a warranty on the vehicle if you go ahead with the purchase and enjoy the drive regards andy

Andy, many thanks - got a warranty sorted and the salesman said he'd replace the battery. Looking forward to owning it - sticks to the road really well
