MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Loose Connector

I have just been cleaning my ZT-T 180T for only the second time since owning it and I noticed a loose connector hanging down behind the lower front grille mesh.

It appears to be capped off. i.e. no open metal parts but it is just dangling down and waving in the breeze!

Does anyone know what purpose this serves and should it be anchored somewhere?

i think what you are looking at is not a cap but an ambient temperature sensor should be clipped onto the front lower grille if you look carefully you will see the location of the fixing for the sensor

I shall have a look for the anchorage point.
