MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Hi-Line Audio & Navigation Systems
Does anybody know who makes these and where I could get some help from to fix a problem I have with the navigation system? For some reason the system isn't identifying where the car's current location is. When I switch the navigation system on and enter destination details and go to route, the current location of the vehicle is not correct. Any ideas? Thanks, Neil

Hello Neil Have you disconnected the unit while the red light was on? (red light next to the slot/tray)This will make the unit inoperable. Article on MGOC site/EMG. From the info I've got, Navteq on Board on 00800 18235322 (www.navteq.com)own the software. Tim

Thanks Tim. Yes I saw the article in EMG but I haven't disconnected the battery. Thanks for the number. I'll give it a try.

Neil, Sorry for this very late reply but I do not visit this section of the BBS very often. I had a similar problem on our 75 on delivery. It was a fault in the sat nav computer (the unit that takes the map CD) and was (I think) a failed giro. It was repaired by replacement. The unit is a VDO system (owned by Siemens) produced for BMW and is bloody expensive to buy. If disconnecting the battery to give it a “reboot” than you could look for a BMW Mark 3 computer on ebay to source a replacement – here is one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=75327&item=5779289249&rd=1 (you only need the computer. There is also someone trying to sell a broken one!) You could try VDO support in the VDO on Siemens VDO Automotive Service & Special Solutions Office Address Siemens VDO Trading Ltd. 36 Gravelly Industrial Park B24 8TA Birmingham Opening hours: 9am - 5pm Phone: +44 0 121 326 1234 Voicemail after 5pm. For a brochure pack please leave your name, address & tel number Fax: +44 121 326 1298 E-Mail: uk@vdodayton.com Finally, a correction to an earlier post. Navtech only produce the maps, they have nothing to do with the operating software on your system. Good luck Patrick
