MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Ex TF'er goes ZR
Hi there everybody, just purchased a two year old ZR and love it, these things are a hoot to drive. After picking it up at 3.30 yesterday, I realised the radio needs a bin, but hell I've done a couple of hundred miles so far (yeh I'm pretty keen) but have now managed to keep it on the drive long enough to change that, got a nice JVC from my old car, which by the way, is a Volvo estate, so you can see why I am so keen! Now I have a few questions if any of you would care to answer for me 1 Any thoughts on a good set of speekers, front and rear would help 2 After owning an F and a TF I dread the coming of the HGF, never had one but still dread it, how does the good old K series stand up in these cars. 3 Do we wave to each other? 4 I wouldent mind having the seats retrimed in leather, anyone know were I can get this done 5 Are the X power lowering springs worth it I'm going to really enjoy owning this car, its bags more fun to drive than the F was just a pity I cant put the roof down, but having had to drive a Volvo all summer, I feel like a kid with a new toy Mike

Your need to fit one of those Rear Strutbraces MGOC are now selling, kills the rear end flex. Mega

4. Try someone like Roverbreakers.com for a full set of leather seats as this will be the easiest way to replace. I have seen a few sets come up on Ebay, too. 5. Talk to Leda for springs, I think they supply Xpower and the rally cars. BTW what model is it? 105/120/160? The 105 can benefit hugely from panel filter and silencer mods. Usual stories on HGF, check coolant regularly, but as the engine is less stressed from being mid-mounted and gets better cooling, it shouldn't be as bad but then HGF is still a possibility. Also, for more ZR stuff try a few other forums, there's one specifically for ZRs as well as the other modern MG forums. Mega makes a good point, Roger Parker has written an article in this month's club mag (MGOC) on rear strut brace which can be fitted/removed with a few twists of a locking lever so is not a problem in the boot for convenience. A front brace is due later.
