MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - ECU warning light

After fitting an oil catch tank inline with the breather hose of my KV6 2.5 engine (a modification recomended to reduce oiling up of the VIS) I started the engine and the Engine Management light came on.
I have tried to reset this by disconnecting the battery but with no success, and I have since removed the tank and reinstated it as it was but still no luck - has anyone got any ideas other than a visit to the main dealer.

The only way to turn the engine management light off is to connect the car to a diagnostic tool through OBD connector.

How do i obtain the 'flash codes' for the ECU light on my ZT, on my previous Vauxhall you could short two pins on the connector and get the flash codes, is this the same on the ZT?

the answer is yes, you can short a couple of pins in the diag plug, I've not got the info here, but I'll look for it later.
