MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Clutch Plate - ZT-T 190
Can anyone help please....my clutch in my ZT-T 190 (2001 model) disintegrated (plate lining fell apart). I ordered a new plate from the UK which has arrived, which I have been told is the correct part - UQB000380 - however the plate is rather different from the one taken out of the car. The replacement part has springs, whereas the original doesn't have any. Can anyone explain this? Does it matter?

The new clutch plate is just an improved modified version. Some of the old rigid clutch plates used to make a screeching noise when pulling away, especially with the diesels and also the new plate is supposed to be alot smoother too. In other words do not worry its ok!

Thanks very much Martyn, I was half anticipating that it might be you that replied....thank you for putting my mind at ease.

This is the third version of clutch plate and is associated with the same number of supercessions for the cover as well. It is also lead free! Rog

Thw whole clutch thing has been quite a saga, and has taken a little of the shine off my ZT experience - I hope the clutch will now last for a long time, though there is a very small amount of judder that has just developed.........
