MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Back in the fold (I hope)
Hi there. I was a regular on the boards here back in 1997-2000, until I had to sell my F (sob!). Well now it looks like I'm going to be back, because I'm negotiating to buy a 2005 ZT 160+ from a local dealer. Firefrost red, just under 10K, seems to be in excellent nick and drives well. Anything in particular I should look out for...? Any idea what tyre life I can expect on the 18 inch alloys? Hopefully by next week I'll be back in the family!

Is it the 1.8T or the 2.5 KV6. If the 1.8T tyre life is approx 25k miles or more (depending how you drive) and around 20k miles on the KV6. Tyres run from budget <£100 each through to >£200 for Michelins. If you want more info, then let me know, but at that mileage I would not think there'd be much wrong.

Thanks, Martin. It's the 1.8T version. 25K sounds good. I had another look at it today, and there seems to be around 4-5mm tread left on the fronts. I've now sorted out a PX deal, so things should go through smoothly... :-)

I'm trying to read up on the Oval Cricket Story. http://spartan.cis.temple.edu/synergy/_knobas/0000031e.htm
