MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Any good deals
I have been thinking of buying a new ZT-T, either a 260 or a 190. It strikes me that with the current uncertainty there may be dealer offering very good deals so as to shift their stock. Does anyone know what deals may be on offer?

Had a chat with my local dealer on Saturday (want a ZS 180) and his view was that the current stock they had already paid for and as such wouldn't discount and likewise the second hand stock... Personally I think it could go two ways (particularly second hand values) - either the car will become hard to shift and that will force prices down, or there will be an increasing demand for particular models forcing prices up (or keeping them as they are). What I definately wouldn't want is any of the currently unfinished models to be completed before PWC sell them off... can't imagine the quality of those to be up to much..

Those models that are currently unfinished and could turn out to be fantastic cars. The workers at Longbridge take a pride in what they do and those last cars will be finished to show what the firm can (could) do.

Bear in mind that most cars are already presold and so as indicated those owning these batches will not want to lose so will not discount or talk about discounting in the short term. Only when financial pressures arise that disctates a need for cashflow will the discounts start to appear on unsold stock. That will take weeks, and possible several months to work onto the windscreen prices. In the months before the crash there was a great deal of pressure on dealers to buy stock before it was built and indeed one I know of had transfered several million pounds to MG Rover on the Thursday morning before the baloon burst. The stock bought though was apparently at a very good discount wich should still come through, but probably not at the 'fire damaged stock clearance prices' many would like. Rog
