MG MG Y Type - YT Ignition Switch

I have a faulty ignition switch in my YT.

Does anyone have any first hand experience on dismantling and repairing this wonderful piece of Lucas engineering (all hail The Prince of Darkness !).

I have four spares switches I can use for parts/replacement, but would like to extend my mind and carry out a repair if this is possible.

Are the new switches available of suitable quality ?.

OK, the next step is to restore the switch to original finish.

Can anyone suggest where I can source a replacement Bezel with the paint & lettering as per original for YT or TC ?.

Try Doug Pelton at www.fromtheframeup.com. He has tons of stuff there - you will have to look through the catalog though ... or cheat and send him an email. Dont forget to tell DOug you heard about his website from www.mgytypes.org though.

As expected Paul, you were right on suggesting Doug for this part.

I found a few more YT parts at very good prices, so I have a little package on it's way to me with more treasure for "MeG".

He has an awesome catalog of parts available - I shall be shopping with Doug again very soon.
