MG MG Y Type - YT Clock Wiring
Can anyone detail the wiring arrangement for the YT clock ?. It is not shown on the wiring diagrams, so I am looking for help from those who have done this before. I assume power comes from either the Ign Switch or perhaps direct from a terminal on the regulator ? I also assume it needs an earth too !. Thanking you Gentlemen in anticipation.

The copy of the Owners Handbook which I have has a LHD YT supplement and has a wiring diagram for a YT EXU. It is the wrong diagram and in fact is the diagram for a " TC 1948 RHD and LHD? (Export)". It shows the clock wiring conected to the dash lamps and to one of the inspection lamp sockets(probably ground). The YT did not have those. I think I provided Paul Barrow with the correct YT EXU diagram and think it is posted somewhere on the Y site. I doubt that the clock wiring changed between the various YT models. Terry

Tony: I now understand why you ask the question. I finally found the YT wiring diagrams on the Y site and the clock is absent from all. Terry

Thanks to all who have sent info on this on the BB and directly via e-mail. I did do quite a lot of research with wiring diagrams from Y's to T's before asking the question, but I am still surprised that no one seems to have found a definitive answer/reference. My YT was fitted with an isolation switch to the clock (the wiring was in place from the clock to the switch, but the other side of the switch was not connected), which is part 2 of my clock wiring question. Can anyone confirm whether this isolation switch was a standard fitment as I have seen a couple of the now on other YT's, all on the LHS of the steering column support bracket to the firewall. I will send Paul a photo for the website if confirmed as original fitment. I cannot consult my LTBY's at the moment as it is currently away "on loan", to see if Dave has covered the clock wiring.
