MG MG Y Type - Y sedan on ebay.au
We have what appears to be an 'unknown' 1949 YA advertised on ebay.au: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1949-MG-Y-Sedan_W0QQitemZ130025673139QQihZ003QQcategoryZ135675QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Photos show a body number of 3400 which isn't registered on the Y site as yet. Wish I had a spare $10,200

Although I frown upon "eBay-car-bashing", I do think the description "fully restored" is a bit too much if you look at the rather "rich patina" under the bonnet area (and oversprayed bonnetrubbers)? A potential buyer should bring at least a magnet to check the consistency of known rotspots... BTW, did you spot the seatbelts?

I agree with your comments - it certainly isn't 'restored' to the standard that mine is! And maybe his/her description is inappropriate - but the price seems reasonable given the condition shown in the pictures.

It is a new car to the Oz Register too. We had YA3392 and YA3407, so another one fits nicely in between. I heard of another YA being sold on ebay.au recently - from the Mackay area - Royal Blue & White in colour - very unusual colour - does anyone recall the auction ?. The car is known to the Oz Register - YA1008.

There is an Oz register? Which may not have details of my YT3432? Point me to it, please :-)
