MG MG Y Type - Windows
Paul, Back in May you gave Mike Lutz some advice about windows and referred to 'carriers' which you say are handed. Would these be the two brackets attached to the bottom of the glass, clamping it to the wires? Thanks in advance, TonyK

Paul, By browsing the Regalia section I've found I can answer my own question! Sorry to bother you. The carrier has almost completely disappeared leaving just the bits that clamp to the wires. A previous owner has glued them very securely indeed to the glass - it works perfectly, so I'll leave well alone for now and just replace the channel and weather strip TonyK

Hi Tony Those are they - the front are different to the rear, and yes all four are "handed". Remember when ordering, Right is RIGHT as you sit IN THE CAR thuogh it sounds as if you need both front ones! I'll bet the rear ones are't in too good a shape either. Two general comment though on P[O]Os (or Previous [Other] Owners) efforts to maintain our cars, (and in no way related to you Tony, just that I am writing at this time) 1) if they hadn't done what they did, in some cases we wouldn't even have the car now it would have been scrapped years ago, and 2) we are now fortunate that we have the resources of remanufactured parts like these, and the internet so that we can obtain the knowledge of them and get the part. Our predecessors weren't so fortunate so when you come across something "ugly" dont think "OMG" but rather "an ingeniuous solution to the problem ... but now I'll fix it properly!"
