MG MG Y Type - TT2

Those of you who have accessed the bulletin board through Paul's website will be aware that John James has just launched Totally T Type 2 (TT2) as an online interactive webiste and technical bulletin.

Many of you will no doubt have heard of John through his association with the T Type Register, a member of the editorial panel for 'Safety Fast' and earlier as the Editor of the MG Octagon Car Club's Bulletin.

His contribution to all these has been immense and especially his personal committment to the original 'Totally T Type' Magazine. Without John there would have been no such endeavour. As well as this John has single handidly developed non profit making projects to source out engineering firms to develop spares. The supply of brake drums is an excellent example.

Sadly John fell foul of a few internal rumblings within the MGCC and T Type Register, as I understand it. So the MG community lost the opportunity to appreciate the talents of John (in my opinion). As he mentions in his editorial he was as he sees it 'sacked'.

However, you can't keep a good man down and John has now produced TT2. This looks like being a really useful on line facility where articles, services and product suppliers are set out.

There is the inaugural issue an article by Brian Rainbow on brakes in T Types (which covers all Y Types). There is also a facility to provide feedback and Brian's piece formed his presentation to a T Type Workshop earlier this year.

So do look at it and I'm sure that you will be delighted with some really good practical contributions to which you can add your experiences - a real break through in using the net in a truly positive way. Brian's contribution is truly excellent.

Do have a look and support John's new venture. The Bulletin will be produced bi-monthly and will no doubt be a very informative and valuable read.

Sincerely

Jerry
