MG MG Y Type - Taxing your Y type
| just for info I am in the process of taxing (actually its tax exempt) my YB - the info from DVLA Swansea in case you are not sure how to do it is as follows:If you are in possession of a registration certificate V5C showing the date of manufacture/registration as prior to 01/01/73, and the taxation class shows Historic Vehicle, then you will need to post or take your V5C registration certificate your insurance certificate MOT certificate and completed form V10. (The V10 is available from any DVLA Local Office, any licence issuing Post OfficeŽ, or can be downloaded from the website) However, if your V5C shows it was registered before 01/01/73 but does not show as taxation class HISTORIC, then please complete the correct taxation class in Section 7 of your V5C. Addresses of the DVLA Local Offices can be found on the website. Once your application has been processed at the DVLA Local office, they will issue an exempt licence within 7-10 working days. They will also forward your registration certificate to DVLA Swansea for amendment and a new one will be issued in approx. 4 weeks |
