MG MG Y Type - Suitable Battery
| I seem to remember a discussion a while back on the suitability or otherwise of the modern type of car battery for the Y type. Did this come to any conclusion, or would any be OK? - with the right voltage & capacity of course! Tony K |

| Good Morning Tony The battery size you are looking for will be one the same size as the BMC/BL Mini range. Ensure that the posts are positive terminal on the left when the terminals are closest to you (as if you were carrying the battery) assuming your car is still positive earth. There has been considerable exchange concerning the benefits and cons of the new type of batteries (non-acid) but these are still fiercely expensive so my suggestion to you (until the wonderful guys in Brussels who seem to rule every aspect from the length of cucumbers to the bend in bananas legislate against them) would be to go for a wet cell one.
