MG MG Y Type - Spare wheel for Y
Presently I have wire wheels on my Y which will not fit in my trunk area to be a spare...Way to big...I am sure a metal original type would do the trick..What should I be looking for? Is one readily available by local suppliers?...Right now I just throw my spare in the back seat which is cowardly..Thanks for any help

Hi Marvin Not an easy option to consider, but you could always go back to steel wheels. Presumably you have a YA?? (I dont think we have you on the Parade yet!!!!) so you would be looking for a set of 16" 5.25s. Again though without having a picture of your car it is difficult to understand how the hubs have been adapted and whether there are any other options open to you. Sorry not to be much help Paul

Marvin, if you are running 15" wires with splined hubs like me then have a wheel built with 4" rim and the hub located inside the outer and inner edges of the rim. Fit a 135 x 15" Mechelin as used on old Renaults and you will find this configuration fits with ease and leaves heaps of room for spares. Cheers Richo YT3208
