MG MG Y Type - Picture of the Month
Hi All, Regarding the group pic taken at Silverstone in 2007 I recognise Neil Cairns, David Hague, & Ted Gardner, can anyone identify the other four people?. Hope you are all enjoying the weather in the US & UK, it is over 100 degrees in Melbourne! Mel Fry Y5103

Hi Mel The weather here in Western Washington is its typical warmish but wet. Quite satisfactory! Look on the bright side - we are past the winter soltice now so Spring and summer are coming back to the Northern Hemisphere ... and fall and winter (such as it is) to you guys! EnjoY Paul

My eldest daughter is currently in Melbourne and I can confirm the reports on how hot it is there. Her last e mail said 43 C - phew!

Hello Mel - from still sub zero North Yorkshire with the snow from 16 December still lying deep and crisp and (un)even! L to R the lower picture shows: Neil Cairns (original model); UMG 473 (best body work in the photo); David Hague (not yet scrapped); Arlene Coulson (world class navigator & Team Principal); Malcolm Hardy (in'07 still working on his Y, now it's finished); Pat Hardy (in '07 still letting Mal work on his Y); Andrew Coulson (owner of UMG 473 among other Y's); Ted Gardner (on a flying visit). Hope this helps Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I did meet you all when I took the photo in 2007. But when you are older than the classic Y type you own, the memory starts to get fuzzy! I have been fortunate to meet many people all over the world, all through the common interest in Y Type MG's. We will be in the UK again next summer, so maybe we can catch up at Silverstone again. Regards Mel
