MG MG Y Type - Penrite Oils
| Hi Y owners. did you know that the ZDDP levels in the oils recommended on the web (Penrite HPR 30) has come down from PPM 1580 last year to 1110 as of June 2011 ? Is this a concern for our engines? compare links below... http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/168%20LATEST%20ZINC%20LEVELS.pdf http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/185%20LATEST%20ZINC%20LEVELS.pdf where is Tony Slattery when you need him? |

| If you go to http://www.penriteoil.com.au/tech_pdfs/ then do an "edit find" (or your browser's equivalent if not Internet Explorer) for 168 and 185 you can link into the PDFs from there. Paul |

| Back on line after a hard working week Andrew. I confess I have done no homework on ZDDP additives, but I have used Penrite exclusively in all my MG's (except ZR), for more than 15 years. As you know I drive them like they were intended - fairly hard. I do note there was a lengthy discussion on the TD-TF Forum on this additive recently, but have to admit I have had no time to read it to see where the discussion landed. Just to prove I do drive around Australia, here is "MeG" taking a short rest at Jugliong, New South Wales after visting Andrew in Sydney for lunch the same day.
