MG MG Y Type - October Safety Fast Cover

Sorry for the non-Y subject matter, but I was quite suprised on receiving my Oct issue of Safety Fast yesterday to see on the front cover (without any warning) a photo that I had taken of my old RV8 ("N90 MGR") outside my old house.

My only thought is that this must have been the photo I sent to them when I advertised the car for sale a few years ago. I wasn't aware that this would then subsequently give them rights to re-use the picture however and whenever they wanted.

Surely there's some sort of copyright issue here ;-)

Still, it was nice to see the picture again and to be reminded of the old cow.

Hi Saul

If you ever send anything to Kimber House they reserve the right to use the photo. However, courtesy ought to dictate that if they are, they should at least attempt to contact you to let you know I would have thought.

Perhaps a letter to the editor? You might get it published without the heavy editting that happened to Neil's original letter.

I wrote an article about my MG-stamps for the MGOC magazine and they paid me handsomely, so maybe you sent your pictures to the wrong club ;-)

And a very good article it was too. As it only touched on the Y stamps we wont be featuring it in Reprinted Articles Willem - so no double royalties this time!

Anyway Paul, you can look forward seeing my spendid RV8 photograph on the cover of the October issue of SF when you finally receive it in early 2009 :-)
