MGY 460 Reg For Sale

I've just bought a 1951 Cyclemaster reg MGY 460.

I'll be selling the registration separately, and I'd like £750 for it + VAT + DVLA fees.

If you're feeling particularly masochistic, I suppose I'd sell the number with the bike for a bit more than that (but in that case without VAT) and you could get a few laughs taking it to MG club meeets?

Some day, I would appreciate an expose which explained the buying and selling of Brit reg numbers and in some cases the significance of the numbers, which otherwise seem irrelivant to the cars which smetimes are sold just for the marker plates.
