MG MG Y Type - Manual

Just acquired a Y type Salon and was wondering if there is a manual for use specifically with this car like for lube, oil, plugs, points, and just general information or should I find a TD manual as the one to use..?What do you fellows recommend?..Thanks all

Hi Marvin,

Did you find the Y-type website?: http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgccy.

All the information you need is listed there, including ordering forms for (reprinted) manuals etc.
From time to time manuals are offered on eBay.

You should also read the archives; I did when I bought Y5888 three years ago and thought it VERY helpful.

The chassis number can be located on either the side of the battery box and/or on the front left (as you look at the car from the rear) chassis leg extention under the front wheel fender (possibly hidden by underseal). It will be Y/xxxx on a YA or YB/xxxx on a YB. If you have an Export LHD it may be Y/EXL/xxxx.

Manuals are available - either in expensive original format, or in reprinted format - see Book Review page at www.mgytypes.org.

Marvin, if yours is a YB, I have an original Workshop Manual and an original Operators Manual. If interested, contact me directly. Thanks. Larry
