MG MG Y Type - Manifold colour
| I've sprayed my manifold with heat resistant silver paint because the remnants of the original (sprayed on?) aluminium coating was silver when attacked with sanding paper. But now I think my manifold looks very cheap. What colour/finish did you use? I've seen white, gunmetal and black. I liked the gunmetal the best even if that wouldn't be very original.

| I have my manifold on my TF and TR4a, and soon, the YB, ceramic coated in and out a silver colour, and have been very pleased with the results. The manifold does not get as hot, and the heat moves out of the engine compartment better. The ceramic coating on the TF and TR still look good some 10-12 years later. I did a lot of cleaning up on the manifold, smoothing, deburring, etc. and I think that helped as well. |

| I think your manifold looks OK and not cheap. I used high temperature resistant aluminum paint on mine and am pleased with the results from that too. Paul |

| Willem: the sprayed silver will soon look less dull afer a few hours at running temperature. It will look much more expensive then. Tim |
