MG MG Y Type - JS (or Doug) Inskip MG parts supplier
Guys I don't know whether any of you know of a JS Inskip (or Doug Inskip) who was a provider of features that could be added to your MG (and presumably other marques). The YT that I have bought has a chrome embellishment that is fixed to the side of the bonnet (hood - for you guys in the US)and then follows through just below the line of the top of the door. You can see an example on one of the 'YT's on Parade' Chassis No YT EXU 2859, which was manufactured/registered in April 1949. Can anyone throw a light on this and the company? I could be completely wrong as to the name of the supplier. Interestingly only one model on YOP shows this feature (see above). Sincerely Jerry

Inskip also made a 4 seater TD, with a similar embellisher..: http://www.carpictures.com/vehicle/07F4J582725840.html

Duh, the same info is on the Y-registers' website..... http://www.mgcars.org/mgccy/specialys/inskiptd.htm

Yes ... if you want it on a Y ... it is probably on our site ... somewhere! Actually the Inskip is a very interesting car. He did actually use TD chassis (if you look closely at the ID plates you will see they are TD/xxxx) not CKD Y chassis. That said though, the inspiration for this was definitely the YT and proves that although not a commenrcial success at the time, the idea of a 4 seat tourer did not go away with the cessation of YT production. At least not over here! Paul
