MG MG Y Type - Jackall pipe unions and olives
Would be grateful for any advice as to where I can source the union and olive which joins the copper pipe to the jack and also the union and olive which joins the pipe to the reservoir. Not sure of sizes but advice on that would also help source replacements. Regards Geoffrey Wilson

Geoffrey Search the archives for all words "jackall" and "olive". This will give you a couple of paths to pursue. HTH Larry 49YT

The copper pipe work uses normal British Pipe Threads, and is similar to that used as 1/4” petrol pipe of the era. You might try some of the hydraulic shops - Dunlop Hiflex at Winchester are close to you and may be able to help. If you have a jack that is off the car the easiest way would be to take that in for them to try to match it up to. Say hi to them for me - I used to work for Hiflex ... a long time ago (doubt they will remember me!) Paul

Thanks very much for advice. Tried archives without success but size info most helpful. Ted Gardner has put me onto SVW Spares of Hull who specialize in SA,VA and WA MG's who have quite an extensive catalogue of Jackall spares so it looks as though I will be able to source from there Regards Geoffrey Wilson

Not sure about the union and olive but do have a lot of the jackal mechanism, less the four corner jacks. They appear to be in good oily condition and I would be happy to give them to you if this could be arranged.
